There are basically four types of motorcycle helmets, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. They are as follows:
• Full Face Helmet - These helmets are mostly used by serious riders who give the required amount of importance to their safety. Full face motorcycle helmets cover the entire face and the best and only choice for high speed driving. In addition to protecting you in case of an accident, they also provide a safety net of the bugs and bees, and also keeps your face is protected from heat, frigid winds and water during the rains.
• Three Quarter Helmet - These helmets feature an area to leave the driver open. So a couple of glasses is usually necessary to protect the eyes from the upcoming bugs or dust in the air. These types of helmets are used mainly motocross drivers and motorcyclists ride cruiser motorcycles. They are less safe compared to full face helmets, and therefore suitable for cruising speeds.
• skull cap Helmet - These helmets are better known as the Harley Davidson style helmet. They have almost no use when security is taken into account. This is simply a rounded piece of metal that is placed on the driver's head.
• Flip Up Helmet - These helmets originated as a hybrid of full-face helmets and three quarters. This is a full face helmet, where the entire front of the chin guard and visor portion may be flipped to provide three quarters experience a helmet. When not kept in the flipped up the situation, it provides good protection for the driver, but negative things about this helmet is that they are expensive and heavy compared to others.
